We strongly believe in a preventative approach which means we aim to detect disease early and, with your help, manage it in a way that avoids further treatment. This is, in part, achieved by having regular health assessments and dental hygiene treatments either every six months or annually (tailored to individuals’ needs).
If early decay is detected, sometimes simply the right advice may be enough to prevent it from spreading. Decay is primarily caused by having regular sugary snacks, and so our advice may be as simple as recommending a switch from sugar to sweeteners.
If treatment is recommended, we offer a revolutionary new treatment for decay that forms in-between your back teeth (which is only seen on x-rays); and this avoids the need for drilling. There is also no need to have an injection; why wait and ‘watch’ early decay if it can be stopped in its tracks.
Sensitivity – e.g. too hot or cold temperatures – can result from worn away or eroded tooth enamel. Erosion can be caused by your diet (frequent consumption of high sugar or high acid food or drink), tooth brushing habits (brushing too hard), tooth grinding, certain medical conditions and eating disorders. We can provide top tips for avoiding erosion as well as an individualised care plan to banish sensitive teeth.
